Blog year2008 in october is about ending poverty http://events.takingitglobal.org/20255 so we hope this week's syndication to 100 blogs will exponentialise to tens of thousands of blogs by then, with a little help from friends like you

sustainability club http://sustainabilityclub.com

social business club http://www.socialbusinessclub.net

collaboration cafe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9nL_a0K97I

yunus 10000 http://yunus10000.com collaboration coordinators for youth dialogues in that city and between cities together with invitations to action specific to each video good news story - eg if you want microcredit to beat off big banks why not help any school try out micro credit with the world's simplest program small change, big changes - a microloanfoundation franchise

Peers across hemispheres and I are far more interested in ensuring that each of these intercity movements vetoes any uses of 20th c failing system methods that the majority of club coordinators -or where elected an honorary board - vote against, than prescribing revenue models.

OPEN SOURCING THE CLUBS
Obviously we should want coordinators to make a living out of work input whlst at the same time recognising that being a club coordinator is probably worth more than having many a professional qualification - or needs to become so if this world is to be sustainable. Equally where profits are repeatedly generated I assume we can find a way iof agreeing some sliding scale that should be contributed either to your favourite grassroots organsiation in bangladesh or to a small list of other potential grassroots partners of future capitalism which should probably need at least 75 of members refendum to confirm

I am very happy if people will negotiate what other rules they would need to want to participate as well as to clarify where they want diferent contant at the mother webs. The main web system I use costs $35 a year per web so its not difficult to imagine that major cties will also want to set up their own branch web or of course a free blog - either of which we will happily linmk from the top of the mother web.

Obviously some of our constitution needs double checking with for example the 100000 bangladeshi's and other Gandhians who are the main practical exemplar of the values we seek to network worldwide so that the future sustains 7 billion brilliant jobs and goodwill multiplying across all women, children and even men.

We wish to learn from each city's most successful ways of mobilising and cross-cultural celebration, as well as metods for ensuring that any action network actually reaches to those in most desperate need of its service. This is one of the big lessons of bangladeshi experience -reiterated by every micro-system designer in bangladesh we have interviewed - once a networks starts empowering the entrepreneur inside it will never get deeper than the deepest needsholders it begins with. This is a lesson that many global NGOs seem never to have begun to grade.

Dr Yunus of Grameen and microcredit and Nobel peace 2006 is setting cities and citiens around the world an interesting challenge. If he is passing through your city would you be able to find 1000 people who all wanted to collaborate with each other as well as him in empowering a good global world instead of the bad one currently compoundingSynonyms for good are win-win-win, sustainable, empowering every community up, one where hi-trust people transparently win over low-trustSo 2 questions:if Yunus was passing through Africa cities, which do you think would produce the most collaborative impactsif you are a twin national

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2516276605 - eg living in a rich city but with family roots back in Africa - how ready is your big rich city to represent Africa interests when Yunus hosts his Forum 1000 there. My friends are particularly working on London and New York as 2 test cities; partly because a London University student spent the summer interning in Dhaka on this project. One intercity collaboration idea is collaboration cafe - see those we have already hosted and tell us at info@worldcitizen.tv if you want to replay one in your city or virtually http://worldcitizen.tv/_wsn/page4.html

Another collaboration idea is can we produce a good global idea to heroes, their projects and networks for humanity. Why do people all over the world know the top 10 sporstmen for 50 different sports but not top 10s for different vital issues of human sustainability? http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5475184122

http://worldcitizen.tv/_wsn/page2.html

But the best truth about collaboration knowledge cities http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%2Bknowledge+%2Bcollaboration+%2Bcity&btnG=Google+Search in the 5 years that I have been searching the peoples and communities that weave them is that if any city does a great job in turning round a beter Global with Yunus we can all learn from what it did and work out how to invite the 1000 most relevant citizens when Yunus passes your way. http://grameen.tv/

Nowehere that I have travlled to in the English speaking world reminds me more of family, the family's role in sustainability than Perth

-perhaps this is personal, my largest extended family lives in Perth whilst my own with one wonderful 10 year old daughter is coming to the edn of the male line (not that matters other than making family trees more work to search through)

or perhaps Perth is one of the last remote cities on earth; you'd need to fly for several hours to find another city and that would be in another part of Asia not Australia; so parents are wondering what should they advise their kids to do; and perhaps more australian youth than any go on voluntary work oversees- where I say more, deeply caring explorative people I find australian youth to be (of course again that's a personal intercultural judgement)

anyway my pert visit and my then 8 year olds deeply moving em,apthy with being in a big family for a week changed part of my focus; I decided I wanted to start a new genre , a travel guide to learning that people could contribute open source post-cards (or longer to); then mix and match their own guide; this is now starting to take off, a slow but steady start; come join us and tell us if you have a document that can be replicated by anyione that fits its neighbours in our elarning gallery; we anted the greatst diversity we can search for; we want to link to parallel galeries in other langauses as long as they are driven by learning as a pusruit for an by children, not for government convenience or any other over-examined standards that in my view have taken the empowering joy out of learning and its flow through to the voactions that your child could most make a difference newtorking through

thank you perth, thank you childrens world, can we parents learn frm you children in time to resicover cross-cultural and natural sustainability? I dont know, but if you don't know too why not join in an open quest for learning; it can multiply value more than any other pursuit that I have ever found

Ami Dar tells a great life chnaging moment story over here - an open community of 20000 world citizens where you can add your voice

the reply I added:

three cheers!

I prefer to start a day among strangers by grouping them into threes and giving each person 60 seconds to tell the other 2: the moment that most changed their life and how they have behaved differently since - perhaps that should be an idealist blog

empowering collaboration is definitely the globalisation's only other "system" chance wherever you the other methods (eg top-down only systems) have run out of space on a sustainability crisis; we haven't really tried how productive it could be; strange to say, many true media practitioners `assumed the internet was born free for that`

I have a white paper that I first presented in Delhi at a global reconciliation conference where our chief audeince guiest was the minsiter of public broadcasting - the coming wars beteen goodwill and badwill networks ; you can substitute collaboration for goodwill (and I am more than happy for anyone to edit the paper if they ever want to give a talk on it). Coming back from Delhi, a project I implemented was to set up 100 http://clubofcity.blogspot.com - these are colaboration weblogs; they are not dated; any world citizen who loves a city's peoples (particularly "foreigners" not often in that city) and wants to animate a meeting or social entrepreneuriual conversation with its citzens is welcome to co-blog

and if your clubofcity doesnt exist yet, why not start it up and tell us so that http://clubofcity.blogspot.com can announce it

If you have any ideas on how to test out our TruthCity survey - please mail us at info@worldcitizen.tv

- our guidemakers net and changemakers info searchers seek to open source this type of survey, improve its questions, share its an swers across cities and hemispheres - just play with exploring it

From a climate crisis discussion at risk of turning on those who travel:

It might be a better approach if we adopted the debono exercise - when is travelling good, when bad, when questionmark

I would hate to see less "youth travel". How else do we cross-cultures for real. I don;t think you can fake cultures through virtual reality or starting a nation franchise store run as Disney subsidaries or by whomever

For example of great travel: many Australians wait to 18 to 21 - then do a slow round the world tour - volunteering overseas in one main location as they do. This makes excellent sense (as far as my brain thinks). After all - there are parts of Australia -eg Perth where you are about 5 hours flight from any other major city. And while I am not saying cities are the only life in the world to experience, I have family who live in perth. http://clubofperth.blogspot.com And I would hate anyone to say that none of their 5 children have a right to see other cities
Anyhow I also have a wish. I believe it is quite possible to brew petrols that decarbonise as they are consumed up. Its just that the organsiational wherewithal to do that will not start in an Exxon. Is there a scentist in the house who wants to confirm or deny that green oil is theoretically possible, and once we put our minds to brewing it plentiful and economic, just a wholly differnent economics than petroleum's

a different kind of .tv web

-how about spending time collating scripts we as world citizens (L1 G1) need to debate before rushing to an internet of video waving over writing?; how about making travel guides to world changers projects as prolific a genre over the next decade as hotel guides or spectator sports league tables have been over the last 50 years?; how about involving people everywhere in voting on a deep and openly replicable 30000 change world projects as per this 1984 script of how to use internet * tv if we wish to make the best of both medias not the worst? why BBC did you forsake fearless questioning (the essence of freedom of speech) that needs with public media to be opposite to commercial media pressures which British peoples have invested hundreds of billions of dollars in over generations - how did you let yourself be gagged by Blair and other ever more arrogantly blind lobbies whenever crises come to the boil?

why do people make 100 different labels for the family tree of exploratory branches of which "world is flat" is just the 100th since we started exploring "death of distance" (L1 G1) in the early 1980s? why are there now 100 types of revolutionary (systemic human relations) entrepreneur (L1 G1) without an overall family tree of what the species has primarily in common when it unites peoples passions to make progress for the human race?

-how did we get to the level of climate crisis that the UK government now Sternly admits to : need to invest 1% of our economy to save 20% without raising questions earlier

-do teachers around the world have a common idea of the 100 most trusted (ie most valuable) people of all times and crossing all cultures? how are we going to get to an age of connecting above and beyond historical geo-separations?

-what do you male of the Bill Gates quote "of the last 1500 medicine inventions only 20 were relevant to the majority of humanity"

Beginning with futurehistorian.tv and worldcitizen.tv
it is our intent to develop some very cheap .tv webs which focus on open sourcing big questions and linking social networks and bookmarks around those questions; hopefully some people with money to make large scale broadcasts will use these leads before sustainability is lost on 7 crisis dimensions that have interested future historians I network with for 23 years now:
climate
poverty
war
basic rights of children to health and education and prevention of risks
collaborative learning networks where value multiplies in open use
smart media that explores big questions truly rather than images over us
restoring Hippocratic oaths and public service to professions

if you are interested in collating big questions and connecting across disciplines, cultures and other boxed-in gaps, why not form a .tv web and become a collaborative affiliate

Round the world, people are calling for a new map. There are differences to what people are calling for, but first let’s note some similarities:

More and more of what will happen through our lives is now systemically out of control. It is a mathematical fact of broken systems that blindness goes right to the top with "CEO's Disease" as emotional intelligence expert Daniel Goleman names it among those whom communities historically entrusted greatest responsibility to – be a chief's rule in a global corporation or as a national politician or in professionals areas where truth may be life or financially critical. Here are21 global sector levels that are capable of exponential destruction over time. All this raises questions every society is simultaneoulsy asking about what our kids learn in educational curricula for a networked world? Or who’s in control of harmony with nature’s climate? Or how can there be cross-cultural safety in any city unless we all look out for each other with truly more respect than a Danish creative artist?

And so far we have only mentioned concerns that assume we are doing well to start with, whereas at least a third of the world's babies are born into life-threatening poverty and in many cases have little more chances of freeing themselves than slaves of old. In every tragedy that happens on your news this month, there is a global market sector which had the most compound responsibility- the failure of broadcast media to help us know which is its own part in humanity's downfall. Surely 21st C women and men -collectively the smartest and richest our race has ever known - could do better than this. What sorts of coordinates do we need to see on a map so that you can choose which of these issues you want to stand up and collaborate on, and see that others wish to do so likewise?

Future Historians and System Entrepreneurs concerned with what societies will need to take back have since 1984 identified 7 collaboration waves. Each will hit all of us between 1984-2024 and survival of future generations depends how well we collaborate around these waves

At a more detailed level, a typology of entrepreneur - The Social Entrepreneur - has connected with people who microfinance community-up projects and found demand in many dozens of emerging citizen sectors. Some are nominated by everyone. Some by specially engaged groups such as youth, women, networks who are united by a specific challenge such as ending corruption or risk of cancer in their food chain

Then there are professions who know that how they used to work separately is no longer complete and needs to flow in much more connecting ways

Next are games people can play. We can invert the statement that “the future is happening somewhere” to which future is happening around you? – and is this a future that will be moved by people connected by a place or cojnencted by a passion?

Please help us register what’s more in common

Please help us register what’s different

Mahatma Gandhi's life achievement stands unique in political history. He has invented a completely new and humane means for the liberation war of an oppressed country, and practised it with greatest energy and devotion. The moral influence he had on the consciously thinking human being of the entire civilized world will probably be much more lasting than it seems in our time with its overestimation of brutal violent forces. Because lasting will only be the work of such statesmen who wake up and strengthen the moral power of their people through their example and educational works.
We may all be happy and grateful that destiny gifted us with such an enlightened contemporary, a role model for the generations to come.
Bill Drayton Ashoka quoted in the book by David Bornstein-(How to Change the World- Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of New Ideas) "Gandhi’s greatest insight was recognising early in the twentieth century that a new type of ethics was emerging in the world. – an ethics grounded not in rules but in empathy. It was a change that was necessary as human society grew increasingly complex. In the past, when people lived in homogeneous communities and rarely moved far from their birthplaces, rule-based ethics had been adequate to govern human relations. But the world has become too fast-paced and interconnected for rule-based ethics. There were too many interactions in which rules were outdated and belief systems clashed. The new circumstances demanded that people become more ethically self-guiding: people had to be able to put themselves in the shoes of those around them. Those who could not navigate situations in which rules were changing or could not master the skills of empathetic understanding would find themselves unable to manage their behaviour ethically or wisely; increasingly they would (need to) be seen as “loose canons”, and marginalised within society"

What does the Map look like so far

Some links:
If you have a project that will work openly in many places once its been piloted in one, we would love to help you tell its story at http://project30000.blogspot.com and look for club of city or village who would like to adopt it. Equally, if you would like to represent your city's adoption committee for really useful projects, tell us where you are and we will arrange co-editing of the nearest weblog among the 50 million or so bookmarks loosely linked by collaboration knowledge city

If you are concerned with children's learning have a look at this weblog and tell us if you want to open up a free section rehearsing how your interests in the future of children's education snap with others

If you believe that there are some social or entrepreneurial chalenges which the media should be debating at least as often as it shows popular sports, either mail us at wcbn007@easynet.co.uk or look at how our campaign for social entrepreneur olympics is evolving. With both the world's largest public Broadcaster in Play and the 2012 sports olympics converging on Britian, we believe the biggest gift to the world that British people can deliver is to forego the sports olympics until or unless the social entrepreneur one is born. Technically, we also assert this as a moral implementation right as the Mayor of London has already promised that the Olympics will only be held if it carbon free.

WE area ware that many professions including economics, accounting, branding and knowledge for innovation require systemic transformation from bottom to top. If you wish to join one of our special interest circles, please tell us.

Perhaps most of all, if there is something else that you believe should be connecting with the hi-trust map of the world that people need to colaborate aroudn if future generations are to be, do please tell us...

According to our 1984 forecasting system which started the future history genre of death of distance (now also known by such terms as World is Flat, State of The Union's Gathering Storm etc) there is only about 5 years left. If we do not even have the beginning of a collaboration map that people from every country can trust to connect their deepest concerns round, then the chances of globalisation not turning on humanity (to use Queen Elizabeth's end 2005 terminology) are next to nothing.

Breaking Views from ClubofLondon current #1 in collaboration knowledge city bookmarks (votes over 40 million)

This week saw world water day come and go with less than a ripple. Did Londoners know how they could have contributed more news on this around the world? no matter

Next week is arguably the biggest in the calendar for gifts to the world Londoners as number 1 collaboration knowledge city can start up, and make the next 6 years marathon of make poverty history connect all around the world

With Al Gore visiting the twin cities of London and Oxford, we cannot imagine a better time to Launch the Social Entrepreneur Olympics. The game is to have got 30 gravity pursuits of social entrepreneur world champions into the public consciousness by 2012 as much as the top 30 sports.

All we need is love and courage to cheerlead cross-cultural creativity's waves:

The Livingstone has got us off to a great start; he has declared there will be no sporting Olympics in London in 2012 unless they are carbon free - turn up the heat on every politician since only photosynthesis innovations can produce clean energy of that sustainability magnitude. Make sure all those who host Al Gore events debrief him as the clock to 2012 counts down

The lessons to be learnt from Make Poverty History from pop stars down can be an epiphany if University of Stars and the BBC turn their minds to the greater transparencies (eg end all country corruptions) needed if Make Poverty History is to be a reality network not just an image-making one

So that's 28 more gravity pursuits we need to celebrate around social entrepreneurs with as much gusto as the 20th Century hailed sporting stars

We are reminded of one Harrison Owen story I should tell because open spacing education is a social entrepreneur pursuit every family can stand up for whereas we cannot all help on the ground with projects in Africa or in the roofs that algae use to convert the sunshine into cleansing energy banks.

He was studying to be a priest around the Washington Dc area. It was a time when Martin Luther King was having a dream. Harrison can't recall quite how it happened but he was standing in a civil rights field in a crowd of African Americans - one tall lanky white man. The police were beginning to charge on the crowd and Harrison was feeling quite scared. That is until a 7 year old black girl came up to him - and said Mister will you hold my hand

Since that day, Harrison gave up the priesthood to the chagrin of most of his family. And is one of the handfuls of people who most interconnects conflict resolution facilitators around the world. Their networks criss-cross all religions that believe in golden rules of reciprocity such as so unto another what you want done unto you. They also connect mathematically - if Einstein is correct here at http://clubofdc.blogspot.com - to Gandhi as the greatest inventor of peaceful social entrepreneurial revolution that 144 years of The Economist's coverage of this most productive of all professions.

If some of this post makes sense to you, why not re-edit the parts you like and send it to the board of Governors of the BBC, and should you wish Tony Blair or another politician well with their legacy why not copy them in to. We the British people, not any of our political representatives own the BBC. We have invested way over 50 billion pounds in this corporation. On a personal note to all scots- may I ask whether you feel the inventor of television would feel proud of a television where every big debate is framed one dimensionally around short-term left and right rivals or whomever is looking fore a job with big business if the party does not turn out Trumps for their apprenticeship to network power.

It is high noon for the BBC with its 10 year licence determined by and for the people in the year of 2o06. Please could our world service be one of British Character we can feel both pride and humility in searching for. Please free your journalists for humanity to take a fearless lead in realising this open source script from 1984 , so that trust across peoples everywhere begins to flow through every documentary inquiry that has anything to do with world peace or nightly newscast on poverty's challenges through 2012 - and through these communications help the British to get to know 30 gravity pursuits of Social Entrepreneurs with as much joy and attention as the 30 sports it spend most public licence fees on. Hey when Brits helped to invent most of these sports we surely never intended they would take over from greater British realities of world service, through believing in CommonWealth principles and our Queen's higher order right to ask us as she did in her end of 2005 broadcast to unite in preventing globalisation from turning humanity on itself.

For the same of deeper democracy blossoming and connecting every coordinate on earth, you can also play a jigsaw mapping game aimed at sustaining 2 million global villages. Here's part of my family's tree which may open up some useful connections- what connections could your family tree or that of your peer networks open source. If you can make a "peer or family tree" picture why don't we play the mixed networking games of swap and snap. If we are going to turn around globalisation’s exponentials sustainably in time, we are all going to have to work with whatever grassroots community contexts up we can help each other navigate. No lead is too small as long as it is one you intend to gravitate transparently around as part of you lifelong learning mission. We need to help change children's education now so that the core human rights of freedom and happiness have a chance to breathe nature's clean waters, airs and energies everyone human beings sing her praises. Let's all turn up the courage through every family in the land and into wherever co-mentoring networks in internet space may take A B C D E F you

From Our Future History Reporters in Bethesda: On January 26, George Bush announced America's 2 greatest spaces races to be - #1 end addiction to petroleum economy; #2 do what you can do so youth loves to learn to explore sceince as much as sports. 20 Gathering Storm leaders had advised him on picking these 2 space races

one of the co-founders of people's world - intended as a next genration internet space for huumaity's greatest discussion and project formations recently visted Australia for a month - this is the mail I just sent him - will update with any reply:

what was the most interesting connection /exploration you found in Australia; I am interested in linking peoples groups in Australia and China; university youth in Australia may be the only alumni left who are permitted to question people economics and the globalisation we need; and of course this commects with most Australians at that age wanting to explore the world (the most eager young group with wherewithal to narrow distances and end nation borders we are likely to find in time)

the quest -should you wish to join us -is for 250 open learning topics, one additional (but potential connecting with peers and over time's cumulative experience) per week in the life of a 9-14 year olds - think of this as a 5 year diary in motion during the lifecurve where emotional self-confidence and cooperation with others are the 2 development assets to care about, way beyond cramming for facts in an industriales factory which some 20th C governmenets called modern schools

ER & FL predict that 2006 will be later known as The year of Photosynthesis
-not a secod too soon according to our Economist's script (below) written in 1984, and a great opportunity for the Perth region to both cultivate green energy and resume its lead in cataytic conversion engined using the greenest of biodiesels. Something special is happening when even Americans begin to sing Green is the Next Red, White & Blue

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE
End of chapter 16:Sunlight is the fuel which sustains life on earth. The process by which plants extract energy from sunlight, using that energy to build up complex compounds from simper ones and thereby storing the energy which animals, including humans, use to grow and move and see and think is the life-process itself. We (human beings) have always exploited that life-process, but in the past we have only been able to do so by using living plants as our agents. We learned to cultivate them, develop them by selective breeding, and since the 1980s to meddle with their genes, but we have not yet learned to substitute something of our own making for the living plant. We have not found or made a more efficient substitute for chlorophyll itself outside the naturally-occurring factory which is the living cell.

Until we design our own systems which can deploy the energy of sunlight as efficiently as humble algae does, we humans have no real biotechnology of our own. We have many kinds of solar cells which can extract energy from the sunlight and store is as electricity or heat, but such devices are very crude indeed beside the technical sophistication and versatility of living plants.

We are making a determined effort to capture and use a greater fraction of the solar energy which falls upon the face of the earth every day. We are trying to make plants flourish in paces where at present they can only eke out the most precarious of existence. The ideal situation, however, would be one in which we did not need to work so hard to adapt existing plants to more hostile conditions. If we had our own artificial systems of photosynthesis we might exploit the desert sun ourselves, without using other organisms as intermediaries. Our ultimate ambition must be to make artificial photosynthetic systems more efficient than those which have evolved alongside side us throughout the history of life on earth. Then and only then will we be able to claim that we are technologically self-sufficient. In 2024, this looks as if it might be one of our children's tasks.

This is a temporary reconstruction due to an apparent google meltdown 9 December - see post below the line where I ask for any help or info

Why might Perth link with some best of world projects:
personal reason, I have some great family there; Perth wants to link with the erst of the world in doping good for humanity; its about 4 hours air flight from any main city!; Australia generally has some of the world's most clollaborative networks for humanity- see all the links that professors of medicine and youth have made through http://www.globalreconciliationetwork.org or by searching Gloyo; they have sent doctors to debate reconstructio needs after Tsunami; they have convened this year's AGM in Sarajevo, next in Palesting, last year's which I was at in Delhi, which was a preparation for many other world meetings including a centenary of Gandhi alumni; all the blogs providing more details and maps of how one citizens group could connect with another if they wanted to explore the particular humanitarian approach have currently been lost. If anyine at ggol;e or elsewhere can help us find them agian, a million thanks

As you may know from prior correspondence with this ref number , along with many friends around the world I have spenat about a year of my last 3 years developing about 100 club of village, city, country blogs which linked projects for humanity of the sort my ftaher at The Economist and wrote about in 1984 http://www.normanmacrae.com/netfuture.html#Anchor-Changin-27687
http://www.normanmacrae.com/friends.html

and so on

Our maps also had a value series
